Marseille, a port city in southern France, has been a crossroads of immigration and trade since its founding by the Greeks circa 600 B.C. At its heart is the Vieux-Port (Old Port), where fishmongers sell their catch along the boat-lined quay. Basilique Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde is a Romanesque-Byzantine church. Modern landmarks include Le Corbusier’s influential Cité Radieuse complex and Zaha Hadid’s CMA CGM Tower.

Arles, Les Baux and St Remy de Provence. The itinerary follows in the footsteps of Van Gogh from the city of Arles, through Les Vaux de Provence and ending at Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. This tour will take you across the plain of Crau to the Grand Rhône riverbank where lies the ancient city of Arles, a Unesco World Heritage Site. You will discover the Roman remains of the amphitheater called Les Arénes, the Saint-Trophime church which has a carved doorway from the 12th century, the Forum Square where the statue of Frederic Mistral stands, and Van Gogh's Café. Later, on the road that leads you to Les Baux de Provence, you have the opportunity to take a photo at the Montmajour Abbey built in the 10th century. Feel free to purchase some lunch in your own time in the medieval village of Les Baux de Provence. In the afternoon, visit an olive property and savour some olive-oil tasting before continuing toward Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. There is another photo opportunity at the Roman monuments called ‘The Antiques’ (Triumphal Arch and funerary monument) located in an olive-tree grove, a landscape painted several times by Van Gogh. There is also the possibility to visit the mental hospital of Saint-Paul de Mausole where the painter was confined and is said to have painted some of his finest work.

Cannes, a resort town on the French Riviera, is famed for its international film festival. Its Boulevard de la Croisette, curving along the coast, is lined with sandy beaches, upmarket boutiques and palatial hotels. Today explore some of the top attractions in Provence, from the glamour of Cannes to the beautiful variety of its natural landscapes and the simple charm of its medieval villages. Nowhere in France quite matches Provence for the sheer beauty of the countryside. Start your tour in Cannes with a visit to the famous Croisette Boulevard and the Film Festival Palace, where the great and the good of the film industry make their annual pilgrimage. Visit the designer shops and famous beaches that have been drawing visitor to this place for generations. After Cannes, drive through the patchwork of rolling valleys, fruit orchards and lavender fields of the Provence countryside, with the majestic Alps forming a dramatic backdrop in one direction and the Mediterranean coast shimmering in the sun in another. Visit the charming town of Grasse, world capital of the perfume industry, where three perfumeries – Fragonard, Molinard and Galimard – open their doors to the public and offer free tours. Stop off at the ancient feudal village of Gourdon, a fortified settlement offering magnificent panoramic views of the coast. Try some typical Riviera delicacies at the traditional Florian Confectionary, legendary emporium for all things sweet. Finally, visit St-Paul-de-Vence, home of impressionist painters, with its ancient cobblestone lanes and art galleries. Prepare to be seduced by the limitless charms of Provence with this memorable full day tour.

Overnight in Cannes.

Breakfast at the hotel. Explore the vibrant sovereign city on a full day to Monaco, Monte-Carlo and Eze from Cannes. This tour will introduce you to the natural beauty of the 'Moyenne Corniche' as we travel to Monaco with stops to appreciate the views and admire places of interest along the way. We make a stop at the medieval village of Eze, perched high on a cliff above the Mediterranean Sea. Whilst there you will have the chance to visit a traditional perfume factory. After a wander around the village where every street is full of charm and history, our tour then takes us on to Monaco where you will have free time to see the Cathedral, where Princess Grace is buried, the Palace and the changing of the guard at noon, then we take a drive along the Formula One race circuit. No Monaco tour would be complete without a stroll around Monte-Carlo with its Casino, superb hotels and beautiful gardens. The journey back to Nice and then Cannes will be via the 'Basse Corniche' for more superb views.

Nice, capital of the Alpes-Maritimes department on the French Riviera, sits on the pebbly shores of the Baie des Anges. Founded by the Greeks and later a retreat for the 19th-century European elite, the city has also long attracted artists. Former resident Henri Matisse is honored with a career-spanning collection of paintings at Musée Matisse. Musée Marc Chagall features some of its namesake's major religious works.

This wonderful area that overlooks the bay was the site of the ancient trading town founded by the Greeks about 600 years before the birth of Christ. After taking in some of those awe-inspiring views, enjoy a leisurely drive along the port from where the legendary Catherine Segurane halted a Turkish invasion in the 16th century. Admire some of the city’s most fabulous constructions, such as the Genoese architecture. And later on, contemplate the city sprawl beneath your feet like a carpet of toy houses from atop Mont Boron. See also how the old and the new blend effortlessly in this multicultural city. The old is ever present in the breath-taking Place Garibaldi whereas the new decorated the trendy promenade des Arts. Last but not least, arrive in Cimiez, the winter home of Queen Victoria. Here you will make a stop at the magnificently preserved Roman Arena and another one at the famous Cathedral. Return by the Promenade des Anglais and admire the beautiful views. The tour ends with a stroll around the aromatic flower market in Cours Saleya; a true delight for the senses.
